King’s Cross action report

Trade unionists from RMT and Unite, student activists from University College London and elsewhere, members of the National Union of Students National Executive, Disabled People Against the Cuts activists, Labour Party members, Lewisham People Before Profit activists, Workers’ Liberty members, and others came together outside King’s Cross station on Tuesday 16 September to leaflet and petition Tube passengers against cuts and closures on London Underground.

King's Cross, 16 September

Nearly 100 signatures for our petition opposing LU’s staffing cuts and ticket office closures were collected in less than two hours, and hundreds of leaflets were distributed.

The action soon attracted the attention of the British Transport Police, who despite threats to move demonstrators on, grudgingly allowed the action to take place.

HOLT will be planning more actions outside Tube stations in the coming weeks.
